Another exhibition, another project! This time the theme was ‘Suspended’ so I had to go slightly outside my comfort zone for this piece. Currently it has to be turned by hand but maybe I’ll motorise it in the future. Built with wire, bike wheel, tin cans, door handles and scissors. It’s on display next weekend at Forge Creative Warehouse but more on that in a few days time 🙂
Hmm this is a bit of a late one but here’s a few pix from the opening night of ‘7 Rooms’, a SALA exhibit taking part in Saint Vincent St., Port Adelaide. This encompasses Poppy and the Wallflowers, Honeybee Cycles, Forge Creative Warehouse, Red Lime Shack, Mayfair Bakery and a few others. It was a busy night! 🙂
A painted furniture piece, this one required a steady hand! Available at Forge Creative Warehouse during SALA 🙂
Ok folks, the shop is now officially closed but R/R is still fully operational and available for commissions, exhibits, markets and public art projects. Many thanks go out to Renew Adelaide, My Modern Nest, Film Buff Central, Port Adelaide Artists Forum, Our Port, Renewal SA, Forge Creative Warehouse, Red Lime Shack, Hot Tonto and other fellow creative types and supporters. R/R couldn’t have done it without you 🙂
Quote: ‘The Future Of Art’ will showcase artistic pieces from the next generation of Port Adelaide artists, aged nine to sixteen. The exhibition is the culmination of a series of workshops with local artist Mandi Glynn-Jones, and will be hosted by Our Port. Please join us for a launch party this Saturday 8th March at 2pm, food and drinks will be provided and it will be a great opportunity to meet some of the young talent that contributed to the exhibition.‘The Future of Art’ will run from 8 – 21 March and will be held at Forge Creative Warehouse, 168 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide.
I know it’s late notice but check it out folks! 🙂
R/R has been working on a film festival trophy no less! It’s hard to imagine what could be next. Anyway here’s a before and after shot of the piece, the brief was simply to ‘make a door’. Made from recycled pine and marenti timber. The 9:16 Film Festival opens this Thursday Feb 6, 8:00 pm at Red Lime Shack, 158 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide.
There’s a lot on in Port Adelaide at the moment, here’s a few events coming up over the next month or so:
Forge Creative Warehouse – ‘Our Port Art Prize‘
Film Buff Central – ‘9:16 Film Festival’
Gallery Yampu – ‘Adoorable’
Format / Vitalstatistix Theatre Company – ‘Port Land’
