Ok folks, the shop is now officially closed but R/R is still fully operational and available for commissions, exhibits, markets and public art projects. Many thanks go out to Renew Adelaide, My Modern Nest, Film Buff Central, Port Adelaide Artists Forum, Our Port, Renewal SA, Forge Creative Warehouse, Red Lime Shack, Hot Tonto and other fellow creative types and supporters. R/R couldn’t have done it without you 🙂
These two paintings/sculptures are an extension of the boat models I made last year, themselves based on old tug boats. They feature painted timber offcuts, cardboard and a small amount of woodcarving.
Another project this week, a mini round dinner/coffee table. Made from recycled timber such as jarrah and marenti, with reused legs from another table. Relatively straight forward, this table is light for its size partially beacause it has to be carried on to the third floor of a studio. Here are some shots of the progress I’ve made so far 🙂
Well it was about 42/43 degrees on the opening night but what a turn out! Thanks to all the artists participating in the exhibit and everyone who came last night, I salute your courage in this heat! The ‘Adoorable’ exhibit lasts from 14th feb – 16th march at Gallery Yampu (1 Jenkins Street, Birkenhead) for those of you who havent made it yet.
There’s a lot on in Port Adelaide at the moment, here’s a few events coming up over the next month or so:
Forge Creative Warehouse – ‘Our Port Art Prize‘
Film Buff Central – ‘9:16 Film Festival’
Gallery Yampu – ‘Adoorable’
Format / Vitalstatistix Theatre Company – ‘Port Land’
